Incoming Exchange Students
The Helsinki School of Economics Mikkeli Business Campus offers a great variety of International Business courses in English for both degree students and exchange students. All of our professors are visiting professors, who come to Mikkeli from top universities around the world. The visiting professors come to teach a three week module in their field of specialty within International Business. This gives our students the possibility to broaden their perspectives about international business and internationality itself.
HSE Mikkeli is a part of the Helsinki School of Economics, the largest and most prestigious business university in Finland. Each year approximately 70 to 80 exchange students come to study the courses of the Bachelor of Science in Economics and Business Administration degree program (BScBA) in Mikkeli. Students come from all around the world, Canada, USA, France, Spain, Japan and so on. Exchange students can study for as little as one module of three weeks up to a whole year in Mikkeli but the most common period spent is one semester. Each exchange student will be appointed a tutor from our school, one of our degree students, who will help them in adjusting to their life in Mikkeli.
Housing for exchange student is mainly done by the Mikkeli Student Housing Ltd, known as MOAS. Basic furniture is available in the student housing apartments either by MOAS or HSE Mikkeli. For further information about housing, please visit the MOAS website www.moas.fi.
Mikkeli is located in the south eastern part of Finland and has a population of about 46,000. Mikkeli is known as a lively summer city and it offers a lot of social, cultural and free time activities for everyone. Members of the Probba Board will also arrange a lot of activities and events during the year that everybody is welcome to participate in. All of the important places are located near the center of Mikkeli, including the school building, grocery stores and most of the MOAS apartments. Public transportation is available and having a car is not necessary. Most places in Mikkeli are of walking distance. You can find a map of Mikkeli from here.
