Probba ry in a nutshell

You are reading the website of Probba Ry, the official student organization of Aalto University School of Economics Mikkeli Campus. Brief History

Probba was founded in 1989, the same year as the original BBA-program. This is also where the name probba originates from Pro BBA, whis means “For BBA”. Later the program was changed into BScBA, but the name for Probba remained the same.

The Board

The organization is administrated by the Probba board, which is selected every year. The board is responsible for organizing events, working as a link between the school staff and the students and also for taking care of general well-being of students at Mikkeli campus. One of the main responsibilities of the organization is to take care of our plentiful exchange students. Anyone can volunteer, for example, as a tutor student.

The Probba Board consists of 8-9 members and is led by the President. The board holds meetings about once a month. Each Probba Board member has specific responsibilities. For example the Treasurer is responsible for all monetary actions, the International Affairs Coordinator is responsible for the well-being of the exchange students, Social and Freetime Coordinator organizes the parties and so on. Organization

All students who study at Mikkeli campus can be members of Probba. This means that in spring 2010 Probba had around 240 members, of which about 80 were in exchange at that moment. All the members are entitled to participate in Probba’s activity, which includes numerous events such as the famous Probba Orientation Week, Grand Annual ball, Career Day and many theme parties especially during the autumn.

Probba has some fellow organizations and clubs in the Mikkeli Campus as well. Skibba Ry is an organization that takes care of the recreational needs of the Probba members. Nesu-Probba and Hook are clubs that work under Probba. Nesu takes care of the Sits in Mikkeli campus, which are known to be one of the wildest in the country. Hook is our own golf club.
